Learning at home!
Dear parent/ carer,
First of all we want to start by saying thank you! In the current climate of uncertainty and frustration, we know that you are doing as much as you can during the second home learning experience and we know that no-one could have ever imagined being in this situation let alone being in this situation again!
Following the announcement from our Government regarding remote learning and their expectations of schools across the country we have to ensure we provide pupils with a minimum of three hours of home learning in EYFS and Key Stage One and four hours of home learning in Key Stage Two for each school day.
As a result of this our staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure as a school we are providing quality materials in various subject areas to minimise the gap in learning opportunities.
However, we are also very much aware that health and wellbeing are important for everyone involved. Therefore, on our remote learning pages, we want to provide you with support and advice on what to do when your child or children are learning at home.
During this lockdown we are using Google Classroom. This is a fantastic online platform which allows teachers to upload assignments for pupils to complete within a given timeframe, provide remote assistance and mark work that they have asked to look at.
We also highly recommend that your child continues to use Scholastic Reading Pro, as they can read a range of texts in their Lexile and around their interests, as well as TTRockstars to improve their multiplication and corresponding division facts.
For more details regarding workload expectations, please visit the workload presentation page!
Your child will need log on details for some of the learning platforms so they can access this during this time. If you do not have your child’s log in details, can you please email your class teacher using their email below.

Our staff will also be on hand Monday to Friday to help answer any queries you may have regarding activities or if you want to send examples of work your child or children have completed. However we must stress that emails will be answered between the hours of 8:50am and 4pm. Unless it is considered to be a safeguarding issue, any emails after 4pm will not be replied to until the following day.
We appreciate your support in these uncertain times and really hope we will be open again as normal as soon as possible. In the meantime, stay positive, stay safe and lets keep our children learning for the future!
Many thanks,
Elsecar SLT.
