Welcome to our 2022 School Council page!

Here are representatives for this year

Here at Elsecar Holy Trinity, we pride ourselves in ensuring that the children who attend our school, have a voice. Each year, we therefore hold School Council elections and work alongside 2 children from each year group to develop our school through the voice of these children.

Every child is given the opportunity to prepare a speech to read to their class. Classes then vote to narrow down the representatives to the top two. Children then attend the Elsecar Polling Station to place their votes and elect the representatives for their class.

The most important role of the School Council is to gather the ideas from other children in their class about how to improve school and voice these ideas in our School Council meetings. We aim to meet at least once a half term to focus on school improvements and fundraising ideas. Within our School Council we elect a Chair, whose job is to eventually run the meetings and a vice chair, whose job is to take minutes and support the chair.

Please see our current Minutes from our meetings so far below.
