Rockingham (Y5)

Our class is named after the Rockingham Ironworks in Elsecar, one of the major ironworks established in 1795 that helped transform the village into an important industrial centre during the Industrial Revolution. The ironworks produced pig iron using locally mined ore and played a key role in shaping the community we know today.

At our school, we use Class Dojo as a key platform to share children’s learning and experiences with parents and carers. Through Class Dojo, families receive regular updates, photographs, and examples of classroom activities, helping them stay closely connected to what their child is learning and achieving in school. This ongoing communication provides parents and carers with a rich insight into the curriculum, classroom routines, and pupils’ personal progress, supporting a strong partnership between home and school.
