Newcomen (Y4)

Our class is named after the Newcomen steam engine, one of the most important inventions of the Industrial Revolution. Created by Thomas Newcomen in 1712, it was the first practical steam-powered engine and was used across Britain to pump water from mines.

At our school, we use Class Dojo as a key platform to share children’s learning and experiences with parents and carers. Through Class Dojo, families receive regular updates, photographs, and examples of classroom activities, helping them stay closely connected to what their child is learning and achieving in school. This ongoing communication provides parents and carers with a rich insight into the curriculum, classroom routines, and pupils’ personal progress, supporting a strong partnership between home and school.
