Hoober (Y6)

Our class is named after Hoober Stand, a striking 30‑metre‑high historic tower that stands on the ridge above Wentworth, not far from Elsecar. Built in 1747–48 by architect Henry Flitcroft, it was created for Thomas Watson‑Wentworth (later the Marquess of Rockingham) to commemorate the defeat of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion.

At our school, we use Class Dojo as a key platform to share children’s learning and experiences with parents and carers. Through Class Dojo, families receive regular updates, photographs, and examples of classroom activities, helping them stay closely connected to what their child is learning and achieving in school. This ongoing communication provides parents and carers with a rich insight into the curriculum, classroom routines, and pupils’ personal progress, supporting a strong partnership between home and school.
