Biram (Y3)

Our class is named after Benjamin Biram, an important local engineer and innovator who played a key role in developing the mines around Elsecar during the 1800s. Biram served as superintendent and engineer for Earl Fitzwilliam’s collieries, helping to improve mining safety and efficiency. He is best known for inventing the mechanical anemometer, a device used to measure air flow in mines to keep workers safe

At our school, we use Class Dojo as a key platform to share children’s learning and experiences with parents and carers. Through Class Dojo, families receive regular updates, photographs, and examples of classroom activities, helping them stay closely connected to what their child is learning and achieving in school. This ongoing communication provides parents and carers with a rich insight into the curriculum, classroom routines, and pupils’ personal progress, supporting a strong partnership between home and school.
